Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the International Slavic Academy of Sciences, Education, Arts and Culture (Chairman of the Donetsk Regional Department), Member of the Presidium of the Association of Law Schools (Russian Federation), President of the DPR Junior Academy of Sciences.
General length of scientific and pedagogical service is 41 years.
Svetlana Vladimirovna Bespalova was born on August 19, 1955 in Makhachkala, Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, in the family of a military serviceman. In 1977 she graduated with honors from the Tbilisi State University with a degree in Physics, specialization in Biophysics.
From 1980 to 1995 Bespalova worked at the Department of Theoretical Physics of Donetsk Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as an engineer, Research Assistant, Research Fellow, Senior Scientist and Principal Research Associate.
In 1985 she defended her candidate's thesis, and in 1994 doctoral thesis at the Institute of Theoretical Physics named after N.N. Bogolyubov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kiev), specialized in Theoretical Physics. Since 1986 Bespalova worked at Donetsk State University at the Department of Human and Animal Physiology. In 1991 she was awarded the academic status of Associate Professor, in 2002 – the title of Professor. Since 1995 she worked at Donetsk National University as the head of the Department of Biophysics, the Dean of the Biological Faculty, the Pro-Rector for Scientific Work, the First Vice-Rector.
Since March 25, 2015 – Donetsk National University Acting Rector.
Since July 1, 2016 – Rector of DonNU (DPR Council of Ministers Decree of June 25, 2016 No. 8-38 "On Appointment of Heads (Rectors) of State Educational Organizations of Higher Professional Education of the Donetsk People's Republic").
Since April 11, 2018 – Chairperson of Rectors’ Council of the DPR educational organizations of higher professional education.
