АРХАИЧНАЯ СЛОВОФОРМА GOTTEN В ИСТОРИИ АМЕРИКАНСКОГО ВАРИАНТА АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА

В статье продемонстрировано, как словоформа gotten меняет свой статус в американском варианте английского языка ХIХ–ХХI веков по сравнению с британским вариантом английского языка XVII–XVIII веков. В американском варианте английского языка ХIХ–ХХI веков вырабатываются отношения дополнительной дистрибуции между вариантами got и gotten в их акциональных значениях. Это ведет к специализации их употреблений в американском варианте английского языка нового времени и представляет собой развитие реликтовой формы gotten в данном территориальном варианте английского языка по новому пути.

ARCHAISM GOTTEN IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN ENGLISH

The article shows the way the form gotten changes in the American English of ХIХ–ХХI cc. as compared to the British English of XVII–XVIII cc. The American English
of ХХ–ХХI cc. sees the formation of complementary distribution of the variants got vs gotten in their actional meanings. This leads to specialization of their uses in the American English of the present day and marks a new evolution path of the archaism gotten in this territorial variety of the English language.
